Domestic Cat
Felis catus or Felis
silvestery catus which is well known as domestic cat is a small mammal. It is
usually furry, domesticated and the type of carnivorous mammal. It also often
called as a housecat when it kept as an indoor pet. Cat is kind of valued by
humans for companionship and their ability to hunt mice or household pets.
Cats are strong; they
have a flexible bodies, quick reflexes, and sharp retractable claws. Cats can
hear sounds too faint or too high in frequency of human ears such those made by
mice or other small creature. They are detecting frequencies from 55 Hz up to
79 KHz, a range of 10.5 octaves. They can see near in the darkness. Unlike some
big cats, such as tiger, domestic cats have slit pupils that can focus bright
light. Such other mammals’ cats have poorer color vision and a better sense of
smell than humans. Cats only have two types of cones, optimized for sensitivity
blue and yellowish green; they have limited ability to distinguish between red
and green.
